Healing Meditation Across Cultures And History

From the ancient Sun Temple ashram I learned that sunlight is the light of awareness within phenomena, that all things depend on for their existence. The moon’s reflected light is energy, and the earth lit up by them is embodiment.

The ashram master Aratran Das introduced me to his tradition, part of which was his prediction (in 1990) that the world would experience a shift into a new phase of the sun, an age of greater awareness, in 2012 (the exactly same prediction as the famous Mayan calendar), specifically from winter solstice 2012.

Ancient Predictions and the Shift into a New Age 🪷

When I asked so how will we recognise this change, he said that like watercolours bleeding into each other, the new age would come gradually but quickly into focus such that by mid 2020’s it would be very apparent. We are now in that time when it’s pretty obvious we’re creating a very different world. The growth of information technologies plus awareness culture surely characterise it. Aratran Das warned there would likely be upheavals in geopolitics and natural disasters before a peaceful resolution completes the transition, which also rings true…

Traditional Energy Practices and Modern Healing Technologies 🪷

Natural embodiment of awareness practice is the key for individual evolution in this age and any other. It’s interesting that in the past we had traditional frequency/energy practices to support that evolution in the form of singing, dancing, chanting, tai chi, music, feng shui, etc, and in the present age we have energy/enhancing technologies such as the EESystem at Zenergy Centre. There are other new energy-healing technologies. In order to change the vibrational frequency of our thoughts, feelings, and even cells (noted in contemporary science), we now have a whole suite of possibilities. Nevertheless, our traditional Daoist tai chi remains an excellent way to take ownership of our evolution in our mind and body in this present moment and wherever we are.

Universal Wisdom Shared Across Traditions 🪷

The truth-essence of our potential for evolution is shared across cultures. As an example, Aratran Das introduced me to Shri Padmasambhava (an important patriarch), who is also a key figure in Tantric Buddhism as taught by my old lama. My present Dzogchen teachers follow the same patriarch, and some core practices are thought to overlap with ancient esoteric Daoist exercise-meditations. All of these rest mind and energy alignments on physical alignment.

Master Moy (the Daoist who taught our tai chi) insisted we consider “cultural exchange“, with the recognition that the truths of our existence are universal, they have historically been shared across cultures, and they should be shared openly now.

Reconnecting Eastern and Western Alchemical Traditions 🪷

Not many realise that Christianity, Islam, and Judaism are all related in the western alchemical tradition or personal evolution. Our tai chi is in the eastern alchemical tradition. Prior to the apparent division of east-west these alchemical traditions were probably themselves connected. In the present age it seems they are all potentially re-connecting… if we can leave aside enmity and embrace peaceful co-existence, and appreciation.

Of course we can add secular non-religious traditions to our list of cultures to communicate with, as well as other spiritual traditions. Science and technology, psychological practices, and our own tai chi are all about practicalities not mere belief.

The Importance of Authentic Practice Over Predictions 🪷

I have to say that my old Kagyu lama had a slightly sceptical view of Master Aratran Das’s prediction for the New Age of Surya. Lama Jampa said that although this present time may well see an uplifting phase in terms of information technologies and the sharing of ancient wisdom, it would only be a fractal wave within a larger phase of degeneracy and corruption! He emphasised the need for consistent authentic practices, not just optimistic talk. From this perspective we can be sure of finding our feet on stable ground if we practice self-cultivation.

Aligning Body, Mind, and Energy Through Daoist Tai Chi 🪷

Thanks to Master Moy’s Daoist Tai Chi we do share a consistent practice that can suppprt everything else positive we might need to explore, for our own benefit and others too. To return to our natural capabilities, regain control, heal, grow in awareness, flowing in positive energy, is self-empowerment that contributes towards whatever the collective potential might be. All the teachers would agree that is to be properly aligned with the natural good within ourselves and without in the world.

All of this naturally resolves into the Daoist Tai Chi meditation-and-healing practice centred on alignment of form in spiral movements with awareness. Simplicity itself reveals the universal core that transcends cultural differences or mere opinions. Fortunately we have this in Daoist Tai Chi.
